Matchday 14 Review –Tokyo Verdy 2-1 Shimizu S-Pulse

Verdy FINALLY got a win after 9 times of asking and its all thanks to the Takagi brothers at the end of the first half to score 2 goals, it’s what Verdy have been lacking and its really nice to see someone step up to the mark while Pinheiro is injured for another 2 or so months and to actually put the ball in the back of the net. To the game, it didn’t start well for Verdy as S-Pulse got a misplaced passed ball, the goalscorer picked off the ball and he passed it to number 10 Omae and then he passes back to Shirasaki and he keeps running into the box and then finishes with a sweet strike into the top right to make it 1-0 Shimizu, but Shimizu wasted 2 good opportunities on the 8th and the 20th minute to put the game to bed, but it was Verdy who got the next goal on the 44th minute, when someone crossed it to Kazuki Anzai and he beats the Shimizu DF- GK commits himself and Kazuki chips the GK to Daisuke Takagi who heads it into the back of the net to make it 1-1 but the goals weren’t over, in the build up to play – Daisuke chested the ball down and passes to first half sub Inoue – he then shoots but it falls to Yoshiaki Takagi and he runs into the box and then shoots over the Shimizu GK to make it 2-1 Verdy in the 2nd minute of injury time in the first half, Yoshiaki runs away from goal but he doesn’t celebrate as he is on loan from Shimizu but the Verdy fans and other Verdy players celebrate the goal all the same, it was advantage Verdy into the 2nd half – Verdy had a couple good chances in the first 5 minute of the 2nd half but they went just wide, Shimizu had a FK but it fell into Suzuki’s hands and another chance for Shimizu in the 79th minute but was straight into the GK’s arms, the last chance of the game was made by Shimizu, it came on the 94th minute but the ball was cleared by the Verdy DF and Full Time came – Verdy 2-1 Shimizu GET IN! Great to finally get a win, I bet Shimizu fans are not very happy that they lost that game after being 1-0 up so early and just conceded 2 at the end of the first half.
