Matchday 18 Review – JEF United Chiba 2-2 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy drew 2-2 with JEF United Chiba away thanks to a 2 goals from Vieira and Sawai to settle for a draw, I was really nervous before this game against Chiba as I was fearing that Verdy would get a stuffing but I’m so glad I was proved wrong and the lads drew 2-2 after being 2-0 down.
To the game, Chiba really had a good chance on the 9th minute, few minutes later Verdy had a good chance that was saved by former Verdy GK Sato, in the 21st minute, Verdy had a chance to go ahead after a cross from left hand side – no Verdy player got a touch to the ball to put it into the back of the net, Chiba had another 2 good chances on the 23rd and the 25th minute but they went wide, started off the same 2nd half when Chiba had a great chance that was saved by Suzuki in the face, Chiba were disallowed a goal after they thought they should have had one, but it was ruled out for offside even though a Verdy DF touched it but it didn’t long for Chiba to take the lead due to Funayama’s goal on the 53rd minute and then Ide scored Chiba’s 2nd goal on the 59th minute, Verdy were disallowed a goal – not sure if it was for a foul on the GK or Offside, but Verdy were hungry for a goal and they got what they deserved with a goal from Vieira after a Free Kick from Y Takagi and then headed back into the box and then Vieira heads it into the net to make it 2-1, Verdy had a great chance to equalise after Kazuki Anzai vollied the ball towards the Chiba goal but Sato looked like he had a touch and it hit the cross bar and bounced back out of the goal but then Verdy scored the equaliser on the 77th minute thanks to a goal from Sawai, but there was a bit of handbags after and it seemed like Hiramoto got send off, but for what I didn’t the ref give the Red Card but the it seems from the highlights like it was for barging over Sato and getting the ball back but 2-2 is how it finished and it was a good point.
