Matchday 19 Review – Tokyo Verdy 2-1 Kyoto Sanga (2016)

Matchday 19 Review –Tokyo Verdy 2-1 Kyoto Sanga

Verdy took all 3 points in what was a 2nd half fight back after being 1-0 down at half time, goals from Sawai in the 64th minute and then on the 75th minute with Ibayashi scoring the goal that sealed the 3 points, to the game itself – it didn’t start off that well for Daisuke Takagi, he was subbed after 14 minutes after what seemed to be a couple of tackles that he came off worse, on the 19th minute – Inoue fired a shot at the Kyoto GK but he saves it and beats it away from goal, on the 30th minute, Verdy GK Suzuki got lucky that he didn’t concede a goal after he (Suzuki) rushed out of his goal after a long ball from Kyoto’s box, that ball found Yong Jae Lee after bumping into the Verdy GK, Lee shoots but goes wide of the goal, just a couple of minutes later Sergio Escudero runs into the Verdy box and goes past Suzuki to put it into the back of the net, in the 37th minute Verdy though they had a penalty after a Verdy corner from the right hand side- Andrei handballed in the box, not sure if the ref saw it or not, but it fell on deaf ears after Verdy protested – onto the 2nd half, Kyoto had a great chance in the 51st minute after they hit the post and the rebound hit the side netting, then the equaliser came from Verdy – after a shot by a Verdy player and it deflected off Takaki and it fell to Sawai – who I’m really not sure if he was offside or not but the goal was given, 1-1, to Verdy’s 2nd goal, a Verdy FK from Yoshiaki Takagi was pumped into the box and Akira Ibayashi got a head onto the ball and the Kyoto GK seemed to be too far out and just couldn’t get to the ball, it was mostly subs and a a few yellow cards but it finished – Verdy 2-1 Kyoto, a big 3 points at the end.
