Matchday 20 Preview – Cerezo Osaka v Tokyo Verdy (2016)

Matchday 20 Preview –Cerezo Osaka v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 20th game of the 2016 J2 season is Away to Cerezo Osaka at Kincho Stadium, after a brilliant come back to beat Kyoto Sanga 2-1 last weekend, it was great to seal a much important win to climb away from the relegation zone and sort of trying to look up rather than behind in the table, but onto this weekend’s game – it’s going to be a really tough test against one of the current top 2 teams in Cerezo Osaka. Cerezo are on a good run at the moment – they have won the last 3 games by at least 1 goal and have lost one game in the last 5, looking at the head-to-head, Verdy and Cerezo have been playing against each other since the 1998 season, in the 27 games (including cup games), Verdy have won 14 games, drawn 7 times and Cerezo have won 6 times – so it’s Verdy who has the better record overall, but last year it was 1 win for Cerezo (Verdy lost 2-0) Away and Verdy drew 1-1 at home – Alan Pinheiro with the Verdy goal. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.
