Matchday 20 Review –Cerezo Osaka 1-0 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Cerezo Osaka, the only goal of the game came in the 53rd minute thanks to Ricardo Santos, but Verdy at least should of got something from this game, from the highlights, the first chance came to Verdy – it was a Verdy had a corner which was almost scored by Vieira after he headed it towards goal but the Cerezo GK palmed it to another Verdy player but he scuffed his shot and the Cerezo GK caught it, another great chance for Verdy came from Koki Anzai about 25 yards out and then Cerezo GK was there to palm the shot out for another Verdy corner, Cerezo had a good couple of chances that went past the post and over the bar and another chance that Suzuki in the Verdy goal had to be vary of and pushed the ball away for a Cerezo corner, Cerezo had another chance but that was past the post again, Half Time it was 0-0, on the 53rd minute Cerezo got their goal, after a long throw in which wasn’t cleared by the Verdy DF, the ball came to the Brazilian Souza – he was free just outside the box and Verdy players swarmed him- somehow Souza got the ball over the Verdy DF and the ball came to Santo and he heads it past a helpless Suzuki to make it 1-0 Cerezo, after that Verdy had a good few chances to get a equaliser – one over the bar and 2 just past the post, Cerezo had a chance to extend their lead but Verdy Keeper Suzuki pushed it over the cross bar, the final whistle blew and it finished Cerezo 1-0 Verdy, through the looks of the game, Verdy had some chances to get into this game – just couldn’t put the chances away, a real shame, onto the next game now.
