Matchday 26 Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-0 Roasso Kumamoto (2016)

Matchday 26 Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-0 Roasso Kumamoto

Again Verdy are a bit weird when it comes to playing teams in the top/bottom half of the teams at the moment – this time Verdy came away with all 3 points thanks to Yoshiaki Takagi’s goal in the 78th minute to leave Verdy fans so happy, to the game, the first shot on target for Verdy was a Sawai shot at the Kumamoto GK and he palmed it out to the left of him where another Verdy player (Kitawaki)was on hand to collect the ball but the Kumamoto GK somehow saved it with his feet after it looked like it was going in, still 0-0 at this point, the next chance was for Kumamoto when Shimada seemed to had fouled a Verdy player but the ref didn’t whistle but Shimada didn’t stop running into the Verdy box and he hit the post and it went out for a Verdy GK, a real let off, in the second half, Kumamoto had another good chance to score after a cross from the right into the box – it didn’t find the man who was running into the middle of the box but it found another Kumamoto player on the other side of the box but he put it into the side netting and then Verdy had a decent chance later on, but the goal came after sub Alan Pinheiro sprinted near to the box and he shot from just outside the D and the ball hit both posts and then some things happened and eventually the ball came to Yoshiaki Takagi – I don’t know how but it settled into the back of the net to make it 1-0 Verdy but Verdy fans/players had their heart in their mouths when Kumamoto when they crashed the ball off the crossbar and then Suzuki caught the ball after the rebound wasn’t cleanly hit. But the Final whistle went and it was 3 points for Verdy.
