Matchday 3 2017 Preview –Tokyo Verdy v Mito Hollyhock

Verdy’s 3rd game of the 2017 J2 season is Home to Mito Hollyhock at Ajinomoto Stadium. After the first win of the season last weekend, it’s back to another home game this time against Mito Hollyhock, Mito are currently in 9th place after having won and lost their first 2 games but have a better goal difference then Verdy who currently sit in 14th, the last time these 2 teams met was a 1-1 draw at K’s Denki Stadium where Yoshiaki Takagi was Verdy’s goal scorer and Funatani scored Mito’s goal not too long after the second half had started. Though the Verdy home form against Mito is a positive one – out of 13 home matches – Verdy have won 7 of those games, drawn 2 and lost 4, the most recent home game being last season where Mito won 3-0 against Verdy near the start of the season – 2 of the 3 goal scorers are still in the Mito team that being Funatani (who seems to like scoring against Verdy) and Yuzawa, but fingers crossed Verdy will be up to the task and getting something from this game. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Look At Our Opponents –
Let’s have a look at Mito’s last game against Kanazawa, Mito romped to a 4-0 win over lonely Kanazawa at home, the first of 4 goals came on the 35th minute when Koji Hashimoto came up and scored, it wasn’t till the 2nd half when Mito really ran riot – in the 61st minute – Ryohei Hayashi got himself on the score sheet, then just a minute later it got worse for Kanazawa when one of their own players scored a own goal and then just under 10 minutes to go till the end of the game – Daizen Maeda scored the fourth goal to cap off a big win.
