Matchday 6 2017 Review – Fagiano Okayama 0-1 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy got their fifth win in a row after a 1-0 win against Fagiano Okayama at City Light Stadium, it’s been a fantastic start to the season for Verdy, even after a lose at the start of the season to Vortis, Verdy find themselves 5 wins from the last 5 games and sitting on top of the J2 Table, not sure how many people saw that coming at all, not even me. To the game itself, Okayama had the first chance of the game – the ball was played over the top and it found Koki Tsukagawa who shot at Shibasaki but it was saved, Verdy had the next chance – a ball found its way onto the right of the pitch, where the ball was crossed in and the ball found Pinheiro’s head but it was ruled out for a foul by Pinheiro on a Okayama defender , another chance for Verdy followed, from a throw into the box – it came back out to Hideo Hashimoto who striked it from 30 or so yards but the Okayama GK caught it, into the second half and again it was Verdy who went really close – after a couple passes it fell to Yoshiaki Takagi and with a sweet strike, it hit the post, so close. But it wasthe next chance that Verdy scored the only goal of the game, Yoshiaki picked up the ball after a mix up between a Verdy and Okayama player, he passed it to Kazuki Anzai and then he passed it into the box and the ball found his brother Koki who slotted the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 Verdy – that sent the Verdy fans crazy with delight – there was no more chances after that and then the final whistle went, the final whistle made the management team/players/fans very happy, another win and another 3 points.
