Matchday 7 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 2-3 Shonan Bellmare

Matchday 7 2017 Review –Tokyo Verdy 2-3 Shonan Bellmare

Verdy suffered their first defeat since the start of the season against Shonan Bellmare at Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium by 3 goals to 2, it drops Verdy down a couple of places but still in the top 5 after what has been a good start to the season, hopefully Verdy can bounce back from this, let’s have a look at the game, it started off so well for Verdy when there was a ball played into a box by Kazuki Anzai and a Shonan player headed it up and it somehow fell to the brother Koki Anzai and he shot past the Shonan GK to make it 1-0 Verdy, the lead didn’t last long as Shonan equalised thanks to Shunsuke Kikuchi goal that he shot from just about the d and the ball got past Verdy GK Shibasaki to make it 1-1, it was 2-1 12 minutes later, a chance by Toshiki Ishikawa which was palmed away by Shibasaki but the chance was put away by Dinei who was unmarked and he put Shonan into the lead, into the second half, Shonan found themselves with a corner near the start of the second half and the corner found Shunsuke Kikuchi’s head and he made it 3-1, there was a good chance for second half substitute Vieira but the Shonan GK stopped it and it was cleared away, it was a great chance for Koki Anzai, there was a cross into the box and Koki Anzai had a diving header and it hit the post – what a chance it was really! But Verdy safe the best goal till last, it was Kazuki Anzai who scored but it was passed back to him after a Verdy player had a wall of Shonan players but Kaz launched a shot from about 35 yards and the Shonan GK couldn’t get to it but the damage was done but it did make the scoreline a little bit closer. But it was a defeat, onto the next game away to Yamagata.
