Matchday 8 2017 Review – Montedio Yamagata 1-0 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy suffered their second defeat in a row after losing 1-0 Away to Montedio Yamagata. To the game, the first chance of the game fell to Verdy – after some head tennis in the Yamagata box, the ball fell to Kazuki Anzai – his shot struck the cross bar from about 25 yards out, it was Kazuki Anzai with Verdy’s second chance but the Yamagata GK saved it – the ball fell to Verdy’s Kajikawa, but his chance just went past the post, so close again by Verdy. Into the second half, it was Yamagata who were on the attack first – Yuto Suzuki’s shot stung the fingers of Shibasaki and it was cleared away by Ibayashi. Verdy had probably the best chance to score – the Yamagata GK was so far out of his goal for some reason and the ball was coming to him and he didn’t control it and Alan Pinheiro took the ball and shot towards a empty goal and he put the shot wide of the goal, the next chance fell to Yamagata – a cross from the right, the ball found a Yamagata head and Shibasaki saved it and hit the post and came out to Koya Yuruki who went around Shibasaki and blasted it into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Yamagata. There was another great chance for Verdy after Yoshiaki Takagi took a shot from just outside the box and the ball hit the post and Kajikawa was on hand to try and put the ball on target but he just couldn’t get the ball on target, Verdy had another good chance after Pinheiro seemed to be fouled in the box but the ball fell to Kazuki Anzai and he had a powerful shot was saved by the Yamagata GK then a few minutes later the final whistle blew, it was tough luck for Verdy after hitting the cross bar and the post but it wouldn’t go in the back of the net but for Yamagata it was 3 points.
