Matchday 16 2017 Preview – V-Varen Nagasaki v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 16th game of the 2017 J2 season is Away to V-Varen Nagasaki at Transcosmos Stadium. It was Verdy’s 5th loss off the season with the 2-1 defeat of Kyoto, but it’s onto Nagasaki for Verdy’s next game – it was a funny matchday 15 for both Verdy and Nagasaki, Verdy lost to Kyoto and Nagasaki drew 4-4 with FC Gifu (see Look At Our Opponents below) – Verdy and Nagasaki are not that far from each other in the table – V-Varen are currently 7th have 7 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses while Verdy have 8 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses, the head to head between both sides looks like this – from 10 games – Verdy wins 3, 3 draws and V-Varen wins 4, biggest wins for Verdy was a 7-1 win in the Emperor’s Cup in 2011 and the biggest win for V-Varen is a 5-1 win in the 2014 JLeague Division 2, let’s hope Verdy can get back to winning ways, at least get something from this game. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Look At Our Opponents –
Let’s have a look at Nagasaki’s last game against FC Gifu this midweek, what a crazy game this was, it finished 4-4 with Gifu scoring a very late equaliser, it was going so well for Nagasaki when they were 2-0 up after 42 minutes when Yu Kimura scored 2 goals (24’ and 42’) but Gifu got a goal back just before half time thanks to Hiroaki Namba on the 44th minute, Nagasaki regained their 2 goal advantage thanks to Ryutaro Ito on the 51st minute, Gifu came back to make it 3-2 thanks to Kyogo Furuhashi on the 64th minute, Nagasaki got their 4th goal on the 86th minute thanks to Hijiri Onaga but Gifu came back with 2 goals – 87th minute Cristian scored to make it 3-4 and then Daiki Tamori broke Nagasaki hearts when he equalised in the 95th minute – a stunning game.

Matchday 15 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-2 Kyoto Sanga

Matchday 15 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-2 Kyoto Sanga

Verdy saw themselves on the end of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kyoto Sanga in front of just under 4 and a half thousand people at Ajinomoto Stadium – the last loss for Verdy was in Matchday 10 against Avispa (who currently sit top) – to the game, it was Verdy with the first chance of the game after Daisuke Takagi got through a few Kyoto players and shot but Sugeno in the Kyoto goal saved it, next chance was for Kyoto’s Number 9 Kevin Oris but easily saved by Shibasaki but it was Verdy who took the lead after a long ball into the box and the Kyoto DF’s seemed to not pick out Vieira and the ball went over a defenders head and Vieira got the ball in the box and he put it through Sugeno’s legs to make it 1-0 to Verdy just before half time, into the second half and we come to a Kyoto free kick, free kick taken and then came Yuki Honda to head the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1 on the 67th minute, then Kyoto took the lead on the 80th minute after the ball was passed to Kevin Oris from about 35 yards out maybe – his strong shot found the bottom right hand side of the net to make it 2-1 Kyoto – a well taken goal and a good win for Kyoto but agony if you’re a Verdy player/official/fan. Now Verdy will have to move on from this and go onto the next game against V-Varen Nagasaki away at Transcosmos Stadium.

Matchday 14 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 3-0 JEF United Chiba

Matchday 14 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 3-0 JEF United Chiba

Verdy got themselves a big 3-0 win against JEF United Chiba but it could have been a different game if Chiba took their chances – but Verdy came out of the game with 3 goals and those came in the second half and kept a clean sheet as well so it was a big 3 points. To the game itself, the first couple of chances (one for each side) both goalkeepers did well to stop those chances, Chiba had a great chance after some lovely football in Verdy’s half and the chip into the box found Chiba player Funayama but he scuffed the shot over the bar – Chiba gone close, into the second half – Chiba went close again – after a cross into the box from the left the ball somehow found a Chiba player, he pulled the ball back to a another Chiba player who was running into the box and Chiba player Aranda hits the post with his shot. But it was Verdy who took advantage – after a run by Vieira – he passed it into the box for Alan Pinheiro and even if Alan had a Chiba DF trying to get the ball – Alan put the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Verdy, Verdy made it 2-0 about 10 minutes later after Kazuki Anzai made a run down the right and he crossed it to Yoshiaki Takagi who was held up by Chiba DF Jun Okano but Yoshiaki nut megged Okano and the Chiba GK just stood still as the ball went past him to make it 2-0. The third goal came from a long ball up field but Chiba had men forward so there was only at least 2 defenders up and Yoshiaki Takagi got the ball and he struck the ball and the shot just went under the cross bar and the goalkeeper couldn’t do anything about it – what a great win.

Matchday 14 2017 Preview – Tokyo Verdy v JEF United Chiba

Verdy’s 14th game of the 2017 J2 season is at Home against JEF United Chiba at Ajimomoto Stadium. Saturday’s game was the second draw of the season and yet it’s the second draw in a row as well, funny that, anyway, next game is a very interesting one, as Chiba currently sit in 12th place in the table but are 4 points behind Verdy who are in 4th, who knows how this game will go on really as both teams have got a close record against each other regarding wins, Chiba’s last game was a 5-0 thumping of V-Varen – you can find out about that game and what the team was by looking just below this (Look At Our Opponents) as per usual. Well the head to head between these two started back in 1998 and having almost played against each other for almost 10 years (3 years Chiba was in a different league to Verdy – 2006, 2007 and 2009 season), the head to head’s look like this – Verdy wins 11, 8 draws and Chiba wins 13, fingers crossed Verdy can get something from this big game and stay in that top half of the table. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Let’s have a look at Chiba’s last game against V-Varen last weekend, Chiba battered poor V-Varen Nagasaki by 5 goals to 0. It was only 1-0 at half time after Takayuki Funayama scored after 6 minutes, but the goal fest came in the second half when Koki Kiyotake got a hat-trick with goals in the 46th, 55th and 65th minute and to finish the scoring off Funayama got his second goal in the 79th minute so it was a fun night for those Chiba fans, here is the team that beat V-Varen with 5 goals and kept a clean sheet as well.

Matchday 13 2017 Review – Kamatamare Sanuki 0-0 Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 13 2017 Review – Kamatamare Sanuki 0-0 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy settled for their second draw of the season and second draw in a row with a 0-0 draw away to Sanuki which sees both clubs pretty much in the same position as before at both ends of the table. To the game itself, the first chance of the game went to Sanuki, after a Sanuki free kick was crossed into the box and Yon Jick Lee headed the ball towards the Verdy goal but Shibasaki pushed it away and Verdy cleared it, Sanuki had another chance from about 30 or so yards out by Ryota Nagata but Shibasaki again was on hand to save the chance and the Verdy to clear the ball away, Verdy had a decent chance thanks to Kazuki Anzai but that went over the bar, another chance for Verdy as Yoshiaki Takagi went close after a shot that the Sanuki GK Shimizu pushed it wide for a Verdy corner, into the second half, the first chance is for Verdy and Hashimoto puts a chance just wide, Sanuki really had a good chance after a Sanuki player was put through, he passed it off to another Sanuki player but a Verdy player was there in time to clear the ball before it got anywhere near the goal, Sanuki had another great chance to score from a corner but Nakama (maybe) somehow put his header just wide of the goal and it stayed 0-0, the final chance fell to Takeda of Sanuki but his chance went over the bar but it finished 0-0 – 1 point for each team.

Matchday 13 2017 Preview – Kamatamare Sanuki v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 13th game of the 2017 J2 season is at Away to Kamatamare Sanuki at Pikara Stadium. Verdy played out their first ever draw in the 2017 Season against top of the league team Yokohama FC and it was a decent point in the end, but this weekend Verdy face second off bottom Kamatamare Sanuki who haven’t been in top form at the moment, there last game was a defeat to Kyoto Sanga (see Look At Our Opponents below), Sanuki only has 1 win to their name currently and that was against Shonan (3-0 they won). Let’s have a look at the head to head between both teams, the last time these teams faced each other was in September of the 2016 Season where Verdy were 3-2 winners over Sanuki – Verdy goalscorers were Vieira with 2 and Yoshiaki Takagi with the other goal, Sanuki’s goalscorers were Tetsuya Kijima and Kodai Fujii, Verdy and Sanuki have faced each other very few times with Sanuki been in the JFL /Shikoku League for a lot of their history – so out of the 6 games, it looks like this – Verdy wins 3, 0 Draws and Sanuki 3 wins – so it’s all equal, let’s hope Verdy can get something from the game though. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.
