Matchday 11 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 2-1 Zweigen Kanazawa

Verdy got themselves back to winning ways against second off bottom team Zweigen Kanazawa – 2 goals from Akira Ibayashi and Alan Pinheiro sealed all 3 points after Kanazawa were leading 1-0 early into the second half, to the game itself now, the first chance of the game fell to Verdy – a shot by Koki Anzai was easily saved by the Kanazawa GK, Kanazawa had the next chance but was cleared away by the Verdy DF, into the second half and it was a Verdy error that lead to Kanazawa getting the ball near the centre circle and Kanazawa were on the attack – the ball was collected by the goal scorer Koichi Sato who ran almost up to the box without being pressured and he shot from just outside the D and the ball went past Shibasaki’s right hand side into the back of the net to make it Verdy 0-1 Kanazawa – but it was 1-1 after a Verdy corner was crossed into the box and Ibayashi got a touch of the ball to put it past the Kanazawa GK to make it all square, it was a another Verdy corner that was crossed into the box and Alan Pinheiro found his header go into the back of the net after he was being held onto by the Kanazawa player but Pinheiro got a head onto the ball to make it 2-1 Verdy – great comeback by the lads, showed so much determination after the way Kanazawa’s goal happened. Relief and happiness all around.
