Matchday 17 2017 Review – Matsumoto Yamaga 1-1 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy settled for a draw away to Matsumoto Yamaga after a goal for Verdy with under 10 mins to go, it was Yamaga who took the lead near the start of the second half, let’s have a look at the game though, the first chance fell to Yamaga when Takasaki was played in but Shibasaki saved it near the post – another chance for Yamaga later on, after the ball was bouncing around in the box, the ball found Miyasaka putting a ball into the box from the left but the ball passed everyone so it went out for a Verdy GK, Ibayashi had a decent chance for Verdy in the first half after Ibayashi put the ball over the bar, into the second half and it was a good chance for Yamaga’s Number 5 Yudai Iwama who took a shot from just outside the box on the right and it stung the fingers of Shibasaki in the Verdy goal for a Yamaga corner but from that corner came the Yamaga goal, the corner was taken and Yu Yasukawa got his head onto the ball and it seemed to go past Shibasaki at his front post, but 36 minutes later it was Verdy with the equaliser after a cross into the Yamaga box by Ibayashi (maybe) and the Yamaga DF failed to deal with the ball and the ball fell to Kazuki Anzai who put the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1. The game finished 1-1 and I think a dreaw was a deserved result after Yamaga took the lead early on in the second half and Verdy got back into the game, at least a draw is better than a loss.
