Matchday 25 2017 Preview – Mito Hollyhock v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 25th game of the 2017 season is at Away to Mito Hollyhock at K’s Denki Stadium. After a great point at home to Kamatamare Sanuki after being 2-0 down at one point of the game but to claw the game back to a 3 all draw was just the lift that Verdy needed to hopefully get into the swing of things and fingers crossed getting back to winning ways, the last time Verdy and Mito played each other was earlier on this season where Mito were beaten by 4 goals to 0 by Verdy at the Ajinomoto Stadium wher the four goals came from Yoshiaki Takagi (2), Alan Pinheiro and Akira Ibayashi, fingers crossed for something from this game please. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Matchday 24 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 3-3 Kamatamare Sanuki

Matchday 24 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 3-3 Kamatamare Sanuki

Verdy got themselves a much needed point after 2 goals from Alan Pinheiro and Masaki Chugo sealed a 3-3 draw against Kamatamare Sanuki, the second 3-3 draw of the season (3-3 against Ehime on Matchday 19), to the game itself, Sanuki really had a golden chance to score after a sloppy pass back by a Verdy DF, Takuya Nagasawa picked up the misplaced pass but put it wide, a real let off for Verdy but it wasn’t too long after that Sanuki score their first goal of the game – after a long throw it, the ball was headed away from goal but not that far as the ball fell to Lee and from acute angle got the ball past Shibasaki to make it 1-0 to Sanuki, Sanuki’s second goal was all thanks to Ryota Nagata, who got the ball from about the centre circle and ran into towards the Verdy goal without being touched and he volleyed it into the net to make it 2-0 Sanuki but it was Verdy who finished off the first half with a goal when a long pass by Ibayashi (I think) found Alan Pinheiro running onto the ball and got a touch to the ball and the Sanuki GK couldn’t hold onto the ball and it went into the back of the net to make it Verdy 1-2 Sanuki just before Half Time. Into the second half was the first chance of the half was a Verdy free kick, Masaki Chugo was standing over the free kick but the free kick was blocked but the follow up shot just outside the box, found the back of the net to make it 2-2, great come back by Verdy. But it was Sanuki got got back in front when a cross into from the right hand side and the ball fell perfect for Hironori Nishi to slot the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-2 to Sanuki, but Verdy got the equaliser in the dying minutes – all thanks to some quick foot work by Koki Anzai – he put a lovely cross into the box and the ball found the head of Alan Pinheiro and the headed ball looped over the Sanuki GK and the ball settled into the back of the net to make it 3-3 – wow, what a game! But the final whistle went and it finished Verdy 3-3 Sanuki

Verdy’s 24th game of the 2017 season is at Home to Kamatamare Sanuki at Ajinomoto Stadium. This matchday, Verdy find themselves with a home game against Sanuki who currently sit second off bottom with only 2 wins to their name and head to Ajinomoto Stadium with 0 wins in their last 5 games (see below) – it’s not been a great season for them so far, Verdy have faced Sanuki already this season, in matchday 13, Verdy travelled to Pikara Stadium and went home with a single point, can the lads get the 3 points? I really do hope so, they started the season rather well and have played some good football and pulled off some great results, let’s hope for great result. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Matchday 23 2017 Review – Shonan Bellmare 2-0 Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 23 2017 Review – Shonan Bellmare 2-0 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy fell to a 2-0 defeat to a Shonan Bellmare side who currently sit top of the league and its another game without a win – that’s 3 on the bounce without a win and that sees Verdy drop to 7th place in the table, to the game, Verdy had the first chance of the game, when a cross in from the right hand side found the Shonan defender Bahia almost score a own goal but the Shonan GK was on hand to spare his blushes, next Shonan had a good chance after a cross from the right found Yamada’s head but it just went wide, a long cross in from the left hand side found Bahia and he passed it back to Okamoto who put a cross in from the right and Yamada had a diving header but the ball hit the side netting – Shonan gone close again, Shonan got the first goal of the game from a corner – the ball found Bahia and it bounced away from him but Dinei controlled the ball and then Bahia shot from just about the penalty box and it blasted past Shibasaki to make it Shonan 1-0 Verdy, Shonan made it 2 – there was some lovely passing football by Shonan and a pass split the Verdy DF and the ball found Hiroki Akino to volley the ball home to make it Shonan 2-0 Verdy, Verdy had a late chance thanks to Yoshiaki Takagi – he had a shot from inside the box and it deflected off Bahia for a corner but that came to nothing, the final whistle blew

Matchday 23 2017 Preview – Shonan Bellmare v Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 23 2017 Preview – Shonan Bellmare v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 23rd game of the 2017 season is Away to Shonan Bellmare at Shonan BMW Stadium Hiratsuka. It’s been a funny sort of results the past few games (Ehime game and the Kumamoto game that I’m mostly looking at) but it was a good point against Okayama last weekend at Home with the equaliser from Taira came as a relief to actually get something from the game after hitting the crossbar and the Okayama GK making some great saves, but this game against the league leaders will be a very tough game, even though Shonan got knocked out of the 3rd Round of the Emperors Cup, they still are on a decent run last month and the start of July but let’s hope Verdy can put a stop to that, but Shonan and Verdy have already played each other earlier on in the season, Matchday 7 to be exact, Shonan came away with a 3-2 victory even though Verdy scored the first goal of the game – Kikuchi scored 2 and Dinei scored the 3 goals for Shonan and the Anzai brothers scored the Verdy goals. Fingers crossed Verdy can get a good result from this game. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Matchday 22 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-1 Fagiano Okayama

Matchday 22 2017 Review –Tokyo Verdy 1-1 Fagiano Okayama

Verdy settled for a point after a 1-1 draw with Fagiano Okayama at Ajinomoto Stadium, well this was a better result than last week’s game, with Verdy defender Tomohiro Taira came up with a goal with 15 minutes to go to save Verdy for another defeat. To the game, it was a early chance for Verdy when Hideo Hashimoto hit the cross bar from just inside the D – very good chance, next it was a chance for Okayama – after a cross into the box from Hyung Jin Park and it feel to (I think) Shingo Akamine and he shot but Shibasaki got a hand onto the ball and put it over the bar, next it’s to a Okayama corner – it was crossed into the box, it bounced off a Okayama player and then the ball fell to Yuta Toyokawa and he placed the ball into the back of the pretty much empty net to make it 1-0 to Okayama, into the second half, Verdy were on the attack and almost took the lead after some nice football by the boys in Green, a Koki Anzai shot from within the d was saved by the Okayama GK and the rebound came to Alan Pinheiro but after some last ditch defending saw Pinheiro’s chance hit the cross bar – so close to a equaliser, another chance for Verdy when a blocked shot from Kojiro Shinohara came into the box and Douglas Vieira got a head to the ball which was headed towards the goal but the Okayama GK saved it and put it past the post, it was another great chance for Verdy from a free kick – Yoshiaki Takagi’s free kick hits off the cross bar and the follow up chance was put wide, but the equaliser came from a Verdy corner, the corner into the box found the head of Tomohiro Taira, Taira headed the ball into the back of the net inbetween 2 Okayama defenders, but the game finished 1-1 and a decent point for Verdy.
