Matchday 12 2018 Season Preview – Tokyo Verdy v Machida Zelvia

Matchday 12 2018 Season Preview – Tokyo Verdy v Machida Zelvia

Verdy’s 12th game of the 2018 season is at Home to Machida Zelvia at Ajinomoto Stadium. It was the first defeat for Verdy in Matchday 11 when they lost 2-0 away to Omiya Ardija, now it’s a midweek matchday with it being Constitutional Memorial Day (which is part of Golden Week, which is coupled with Showa Day and Greenery Day) and the Public Holiday game is against their near neighbours Machida Zelvia at Ajinomoto Stadium, it’s sort of like on Boxing Day here in the UK when you play a team that is in your general area of where you live (Example – the team I support here in England are Spennymoor Town FC and they played Blyth Spartans on Boxing Day and New Year as they are in close proximity to each other), Zelvia currently are sitting in 8th place in the league with 16 points – winning 4 games, drawing 4 and losing 3 with a +2 goal difference at the moment, their last game was a 4-3 defeat away to Oita Trinita (you can find out all the info below) while Verdy will want to get back to winning ways after losing to Omiya and see themselves currently 5th after dropping one place and have 18 points. The last time the teams played each other was last season and Verdy came away with 2 wins against Zelvia, the away game Verdy won 4-2 (Verdy goals from Watanabe, Hatanaka, Pinheiro and Kaz Anzai, for Zelvia – Yoshida and Todaka) for the 3-1 Verdy home win it was a OG, Pinheiro and Hatanaka for Verdy and Endo the goalscorer for Zelvia, let’s hope the boys in green can get back to winning ways. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.
