Matchday 16 2018 Season Preview –Tokyo Verdy v Ehime FC

Verdy’s 16th game of the 2018 season is at Home to Ehime FC at Ajinomoto Stadium. In the last Matchday, the game against Fagiano Okayama Away was abandoned in the 65th minute due to the thunderstorms and all the rain that poured down that flooded little parts of the pitch which made thepitch unplayble even after the thunderstorm passed, while there hasn’t been a new date for the rest of the game to be played, I hope to see a update soon, but it’s onto the next matchday for the boys in Green and it’s a home game against second off bottom Ehime FC – Ehime are currently in 21st place with 10 points after only 2 wins, 4 draws and 9 losses while Verdy currently sit in 15th after such a bad run of late, the head to head between the 2 teams look like this – last season at Ajinomoto Stadium it finished 3-3 – Verdy scorers on the day were Vieira (2) and Yoshiaki Takagi – Ehimescorers were Kawahara, Shirai and Kondo – Takagi scored the equaliser in the 93rd minute for Verdy after Kondo scored in the 90th minute for Ehime to finish all square. Let’s hope that Verdy can get back to winning ways and climb back up that table. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Matchday 15 2018 Season Review – Fagiano Okayama A-A Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 15 2018 Season Review – Fagiano Okayama A-A Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s game with Fagiano Okayama was abandoned on the 62nd minute due to a thunderstorm and the players got took off the field due to health and safety, a new date for playing the rest of the game are to be confirmed. Looking at how much of the game that went ahead, there was a early chance for Okayama when a header by Shingo Akamine went well wide of the goal, but Verdy took the lead on the 20th minute thanks to a long Verdy throw in and the ball found Yong Jick Lee in the box and he passed the ball to Kanya Fujimoto and he beat 1 Okayama defender and he shot from a angle and the ball went past the Okyama goalkeeper Junki Kanayama to make it 1-0 to Verdy, Okayama had a good chance by Hayato Nakama but Akira Ibayashi was in the way to block the ball and it went out for a corner, there were a couple of chances for Okayama but the Verdy defence stayed strong and kept the home side out. But the game was halted after it started to thunder and lighting and with the raining pouring down already before the game- the ref took the players off the pitch and the fans went for cover – the rain just poured down even more and the pitch was waterlogged – game abandoned.

Matchday 14 2018 Season Review – Renofa Yamaguchi 4-3 Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 14 2018 Season Review – Renofa Yamaguchi 4-3 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy saw themselves go down to a crazy 4-3 defeat away to Renofa Yamaguchi and that makes fourth lost to the season which is really worrying after having such a great start to the season, it was a good start for Renofa when Kosuke Onose had a perfect position to head the ball into the goal but he hit the post, Verdy took the lead on the twelfth minute after a Kanya Fujimoto passed the ball to Kota Watanabe who was running into the box and Watanabe passed it along the box and the ball passed Douglas Vieira and then the ball found Yong Jick Lee and his shot inside the box found the back of the net to make it 1-0, it was a defensive mistake that found Verdy go 2-0 up, Watanabe got the ball and he passed to Fujimoto, Fujimoto passed it back to Watanabe who was on the right hand side of the box and he crossed it in and Douglas Vieira got a low header on the ball and put it into the back of the net to double the lead, now into the second half, Renofa had a good chance early on but the shot deflected over the bar, there was another good chance for Renofa when a header from Keita Yamashita got saved by Naoto Kamifukumoto to put it past the post, it was another good chance after that when Junya Osaki just put over the bar, Renofa got back into the game on the 71st minute when a cross from Hidetoshi Miyuki found Ado Onaiwu and he vollied it through a crowd of players into the back of the net to make it 2-1, Renofa made it 2 all when a chip into the box from Kosuke Onose found Osaki in the box and he headed it back and it hit a Verdy defender and the ball found its way back to Osaki and he put it past Kamifukumoto to make it 2-2 and then only a couple of minutes later it was 3-2 to Renofa when a cross from Joji Ikegami found the head of Kazuhito Kishida and he headed the ball past Kamifukumoto for Renofa to take the lead for the first time in this match, a long ball up field found the Verdy defence found napping and the ball found Onaiwu and he controlled the ball and Onaiwu put it past Kamifukumoto’s left to make it 4-2 to Renofa but the goal scoring wasn’t done yet, it was probably the goal of the game when Yuta Narawa from about 30 yards (maybe 35) – he striked and the ball went into the right of the net to make the scoreline a bit closer in the end, so it ended Renofa 4-3 Verdy.

Matchday 14 2018 Season Preview – Renofa Yamaguchi v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 14th game of the 2018 season is Away to Renofa Yamaguchi at Ishin Me-Life Stadium. Verdy go into this game on the back of 3 straight losses, never thought I’d say that after the great start the team had, the boys in green were unbeaten up until losing away to Omiya and have lost the next 2 games (Lost 4-1 to Machida and Lost 1-0 to Kanazawa) so hopefully something will change, but Verdy have to go up against Third place Renofa Yamaguchi to do it, Renofa have had a great start to the season and currently have 7 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses with a +5 goal difference – 24 points while Verdy have really gone down the table after the 3 straight losses, they currently sit in 9th place, the head to head between the 2 sides is a short history with this being the 5th time they have played against each other and Renofa are out on top by 2 wins to 1 and 1 draw – last season, Verdy won this game 2-0 with Ibayashi and Pinheiro with the goals, let’s hope everyone at Verdy can get together and get the spirits up and get something from this game, fingers crossed. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.
