Matchday 38 2017 Preview – FC Gifu v Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 38 2017 Preview – FC Gifu v Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s 38th game of the 2017 season is at Away to FC Gifu at Nagaragawa Stadium. This game is the last away game of a double header – this game is away to FC Gifu – with 5 games to go, Verdy are still in the top 10 of the J2 league after the comeback win against bottom of the league Gunma to keep in contention with the top 5, to the game itself, Gifu currently sit in 17th place and I think they are safe from relegation in my opinion but they haven’t been doing great with results lately – the last 5 games they have lost 3 of those games (Home v Avispa, v Nagoya and v Vortis) – their last win was in Matchday 33 when they beat second off bottom Renofa Yamaguchi 1-0, the last time the 2 teams met was all the way back in Matchday 5 (25th March) at Ajinomoto Stadium where Verdy came away from the game with a 1-0 win, the only goal of the game came from Alan Pinheiro came in the 68th minute to seal all 3 points. Let’s hope Verdy can keep up the good run and get something from this game. LET’S FIGHT TOWARDS VICTORY.

Matchday 38 2017 Review – Thespa Kusatsu Gunma 1-2 Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 38 2017 Review – Thespa Kusatsu Gunma 1-2 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy came back from 1-0 down to claim all three points away to bottom of the league Thespa Kusatsu Gunma with a 2-1 win in front of just over 2, 000 people, let’s have a look at the game, it was Verdy who had the first chance of the game – Carloz Martinez with that chance but the Gunma GK got the ball, next a decent chance by Gunma was put wide by Gunma’s Number 19 Yugo Ichiyanagi, Verdy then had a great chance but Koki Anzai put the shot over the bar, into the second half and Gunma started with a great chance after a shot from Yuya Yamagishi which was saved and came back out to a Gunma player who crossed into the box straight away and the header was brilliantly saved by Shibasaki and it went over the bar, Gunma took the lead on the 75th minute after a cross into the box – it was headed back by a Verdy player then Yamagishi fluffed his shot but the ball found Kang and he put the ball past Shibasaki to make it 1-0, but Verdy got themselves a penalty after Douglas Vieira got pulled down in the box, Douglas pulled himself up and took the penalty – even though Keiki Shimizu got a touch to the ball, it still went into the back of the net to make it 1-1 on the 83rd minute and then in the 88th minute Verdy went in front for the first time of the match – a cross from Ryota Kajikawa found the head of Tatsuya Uchida who angled the header over the Gunma GK and into the back of the net to stun the Gunma players and fans – that’s Uchida’s first goal of the season and a very important goal as well for the boys in Green. Big 3 points before the next game.

Matchday 36 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 3-1 Montedio Yamagata

Matchday 36 2017 Review – Tokyo Verdy 3-1 Montedio Yamagata

Verdy sealed their second 3-1 win with the 3-1 coming against Montedio Yamagata (their first 3-1 win was a couple of weekend’s ago when Verdy beat Machida Zelvia 3-1 at home as well) but it’s another good win and pretty much keeps them in the top 10, let’s have a look at the game, it was a chance for Verdy first off with Alan Pinheiro’s shot went over the bar, it was a good chance for Yamagata’s Number 31 Kaito Anzai but Shibasaki palmed it away, Yamagata almost made it 1-0 after a great chance from Yuhei Sato but it hit the outside of the post and went behind for a Verdy Goal Kick, but Verdy made it 1-0 after a chance by Koki Anzai was saved by the Yamagata GK but the ball came back out to Pinheiro and he then put the ball into the back of the net but Yamagata equalised 6 minutes later from a corner – it came off a Verdy playerand into the back of the net to make it 1-1, but 10 minutes later, a great cross into the box from the right hand side found the head of Douglas Vieira who headed it past the out coming Yamagata GK and headed it past him into the back of the net to make it 2-1, Vieira made it 3-1 after a Verdy player got the ball off a Yamagata player and he passed it to Vieira and he was left untackled as he ran into the box and put the ball into the back of the net on the Yamagata GK’s left , another great result for the boys in Green.
