Matchday 38 2019 Season Review – Yokohama FC 2-1 Tokyo Verdy

Matchday 38 2019 Season Review – Yokohama FC 2-1 Tokyo Verdy

Verdy’s first away game in triple header was a defeat to Playoff/Promotion Place fighting team in Yokohama FC when Verdy lost 2-1 with Yong Jick Lee scoring the only goal for Verdy and Nakamura scored in the first half and Matsuo scored in the second half for Yokohama, to the game itself, it was Verdy who kicked off the game and the first chance of the game fell to the home side Yokohama FC, it was a pass into the box from Kengo Kitazume to a Yokohama player who held the ball up and then he passed it to Shunsuke Nakamura, the former Marinos player, volleyed the ball from about 30 – what a goal by Nakamura and put Yokohama FC in the lead, now into the second half it was Yokohama who had the chance and they scored from it after a through pass for Yusuke Matsuo but a Verdy defender Naoto Sawai blocked it but the ball and the ball was picked up on the edge of the box by a Yokohama player while Naoto Kamifukumoto tried to get the ball but he was out of his goal when the Yokohama player passed the ball in the box and Matsuo calmly put the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0 to the home side, but later on Verdy finally got a chance and they scored from this chance when a cross into the box from Yuta Narawa and the cross came in and Yuta Minami though he had the ball but with Jailton Paraiba trying to get the ball as well as Minami he dropped it behind him and it was a tap into the goal for Yong Jick Lee after only just coming on as sub, talk about impact, getting a goal from maybe your first touch of the ball, but Minami was complaing about their being a foul but looking at the replay’s, Paraiba didn’t foul him at all, all he did was try to get the ball and the goal stood to make it 2-1 now, with 20 minutes to go Verdy had a free kick and the ball into the box was headed towards goal by Masashi Wakasa and Minami came out as well but the ball went over the Yokohama GK but the ball hit the crossbar and Minami easily collected it, so close for Verdy but after 5 minutes of injury time, the ref blew the whistle for full time and it was a defeat for Verdy, very unlucky with the free kick but it was the home side who won and picked up the 3 points.

Matchday 35 2019 Season Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-2 Fagiano Okayama

Matchday 35 2019 Season Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-2 Fagiano Okayama

Verdy fell down to a 2-1 lost at home to Fagiano Okayama, even though Verdy took the lead in the 4th minute of the game thanks to Yong Jick Lee, it was in the second half that Okayama got back into the game on the 50th and 83rd minute and the away side claimed the 3 points in the end, to the game itself, the real first chance of the game seemed to have come from a misplaced back pass which found Jailton Paraiba and he went one and one with the Okayama GK Jun Ichimori and he passed it off to Yong Jick Lee to put into the empty net to make it 1-0 to Verdy early on, but now into the second half where Okayama equalised after a pass from Seiya Nakano found Hayato Nakama in the box and his shot from just inside the box and it went past Naoto Kamifukumoto, Verdy had a good chance in the 69th minute when Yong Jick Lee too his chance from about 30 yards out or so and the Okayama GK Ichimori saved it and put it out for a corner, from a different corner a few minutes later, Klebinho got the ball on the left hand side after the ball came back to him and his shot was saved just by Ichimori in the Okayama Goal but then Okayama took the lead for the first time in the game on the 83rd minute when a clearance away from goal found Kota Ueda just inside the box and his shot found the back of the net to make it 2-1 to Okayama, Okayama came close to scoring another goal from Ueda but Kamifukumoto held onto the ball, Verdy had the last chance of the game when a cross in from the left from Yong Jick Lee found the head of a Verdy player in the box but Ichimori was on fine form and saved the ball, with 3 minutes of injury time been played the ref blew the full time whistle and Okayama claimed the 3 points.
