Matchday 12 2018 Season Review – Tokyo Verdy 1-4 Machida Zelvia

Verdy went down to their second defeat in 5 days with a 4-1 defeat to near neighbours Machida Zelvia, after the good start to the season its two losses in a row for Verdy, it was defentily a day to forget but it started off so well for Verdy when they scored the first goal of the game, it was a ball through to Ryohei Hayashi and he shot from just inside the D and it went past Koki Fukui in the Machida goal to his right but it wasn’t long till Machida got their equaliser when a Verdy chance was broken up and a ball up field found Machida MF Kota Morimura and he ran towards the Verdy box where his pass found Ryohei Yoshihama and he ran into the box with the ball and put the ball past Naoto Kamifukumoto’s right and went into the back of the net to make it 1-1, into the second half and it was Machida who took the lead after a short pass to a Verdy DF was closed down and the pass found a Machida player and he passed it to Morimura to put it into the back of the net to make it 2-1 to Machida, it was 3-1 to Machida 10 minutes later when Yoshihama scored his second goal and Machida’s third and to put the nail even more in the coffin Machida made it 4-1 with only a couple of minutes to go after a run into the box by Koji Suzuki and he passed to Yuki Nakashima who put it into the back of the net to make the day worse for Verdy but sent those Machida fans who were at the game, it sent them home very happy.
